Jeff Tien

Founder, Executive Creative Director

Jeff Tien brings fifteen solid years of strategic branding, creative graphic design/development,
interactive and video production experience to his role as Creative Director, creating innovative
campaigns for a wide range of clients including Events DC, SHRM, The Mid Atlantic Sports
Network, the United Service Organizations (USO), The Wireless Association (CTIA) , the
UNICEF Tap Project, Save Darfur, and the Law School Admissions Council. Prior to founding
Buena, Tien most recently worked at Bravery Corporation, RP3 Agency and GMMB, where he
successfully unified creative teams and completed projects ranging from strategic and creative
concepts to development and implementation. Jeff's creative strength is in refreshing a stagnant
brand or ideating unique digital ways for a client to interact with their audience through design
and user experience methodology. The work includes brand strategy, design, websites,
wireframes, user interface, social media, integrated marketing campaigns, HTML e-mails,
storyboarding, widgets, motion graphics, animation and illustration.

Tien earned an M.A. in Multimedia Design from Elisava University in Barcelona, Spain.

Simon Landau

Project Manager

Simon Landau has been helping brands grow online through a variety of social and digital media marketing practices. Creating stronger, more visible media campaigns online for clients who are looking to improve their social and digital media presence.

Simon also led the digital content team for ABC7/WJLA, overseeing content on their website, apps and social media platforms in one of the top 10 television markets in the country.

Managed team of digital content producers who cover news 24/7 and has led breaking digital coverage of historic events including the Pope’s visit to Washington, the Blizzard of 2016, the Presidential Election of 2016, and Inauguration Day 2017.
Developed strategy and growth for all of station’s social platforms and online and mobile products, developing plans and building strategic projects to enhance content, social engagement and online branding.
Acted as digital point person for dozens of on-air reporters and producers to coordinate online and digital products.

Pierre Edwards

Film Director/Videographer

Pierre leads the creative visual storytelling and conceptual production of all video and experiential installations for Buena. He is a visual enthusiast with a humble demeanor. Highly skilled in editing, pre-production, storyboarding, production, and all things visual. Pierre has created videos, visuals, and experiences for The Atlantic, Youtube, The Smithsonian, Under Armour, Asics, Bulleit Bourbon, and Events DC.

The creative direction he envisions flows from inception to final concept seamlessly, bringing forth abundant beauty, inspiration and originality.

Christine Mitchell

Senior Graphic Designer

Christine brings more than a decade of graphic and web design experience, creating innovative digital campaigns for a wide range of clients including Better Business Bureau, MasterCard, National Trust for Historic Preservation, American Farm Bureau, Regency Centers, SHRM, APHA and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Prior to joining Buena, Christine worked with leading digital agencies in Washington, DC where she was involved in all aspects of visual design, from strategic concepting to implementation. Her strength lies in translating client needs and desires into visual designs that are clean, well-structured and functional. Building from a strong background in illustration and print design, she has developed extensive experience
in digital design of all forms with a focus on refined, readable layouts with tasteful color palettes and thoughtful typography.

UX/Product Designer

Leighanna is a skilled UX/Product Designer utilizing creative design to:
• Produce designs to help the product team understand the desired customer experience, including high-fidelity wireframes, flows, prototypes, etc.
• Deliver interaction designs from concept through launch
• Wireframe new features and templates and improvements to existing functionality
• Design for a variety of platforms including mobile browsers, iOS, Android, and desktop browsers
• Build prototypes of new features, templates and apps to demonstrate and test new designs
• Participate in usability studies on existing and new applications
• Continuously provide usability design improvement recommendations based on industry best practices, user data, and current design trends
She has worked at OpenTable, Venga, CoStar, and Blue Mercury as a UX/Product Designer

Javi Gracia

Senior Graphic Designer

Javi blends a street artist craft and eye with an ad agency’s technical digital/print skillset. He has over 15 years of experience at global ad agencies such as Shackleton, DDB, BBDO, and Villarrosas, where he has Art Directed and designed international ads and campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Pepsico, Volkswagen, Honda, Lay’s, and more.

Javi has created successful digital and outdoor campaigns, illustrations, videos, and street art installations.

Ben Mayberry

Art Director

Benjamin Mayberry has more than a decade of experience leading and partnering with companies ranging from household brands to startups, creating compelling, strategic, and iconic campaigns. Benjamin leads by focusing on process and people to innovate and push boundaries. Benjamin has challenged brands like the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco 49ers to see themselves differently and deliver results. With an expertise in brand identity and style guides, creative processes from strategic brief to execution, social media execution, advertising and performance marketing, and integrated marketing campaigns, Benjamin has a wealth of experience in the sports and entertainment space.

Jeff Will

Lead Technologist

Jeff is passionate about creating remarkable and meaningful experiences for users. He leads the development team on numerous large-scale development projects including mobile adncampaigns, websites, games, and web applications. Jeff makes decisions about incorporating new technologies into the development workflow. He has created and implemented code and technology standards for the development team and crafted front-end code on a range of projects.

As a developer, he is inherently dedicated to spending the time to get the smallest detail right and always experimenting with the next technology.

Jeff’s skills and coding languages include:
